Capture your server conversations and highlights

Overview

The Discord integration collects messages from your selected server channels. It captures text messages, reactions, and conversation context to weave into your daily diary narrative. A deariary Bot reads messages from chosen channels on your behalf.

Use cases

Captures conversations you participated in across your servers
Highlights key discussions, decisions, and community moments
Provides social and community context for your diary

Data collected

Messages — text content, author, timestamp, channel name, server name
Reactions — emoji name and count on each message
Channels — name and server name of selected text channels
Users — username and display name of message authors

Only messages from selected channels are collected. Message content is truncated to 500 characters. DMs and voice data are never accessed.

Setup

Click "Connect" and sign in with your Discord account via OAuth. After connecting, add the deariary Bot to each server you want to monitor. Then select which text channels to include from the channel settings page.

Permissions

OAuth2 Scopes (user-level)

identify — Read your Discord username and avatar

guilds — View the list of servers you belong to

Bot Permissions (server-level)

View Channels — See the list of text channels in the server

Read Message History — Read messages from selected channels. The bot cannot send messages, manage channels, or access voice data.
