Turn your check-ins into a diary of places you visited

Overview

The Swarm integration connects via OAuth 2.0 and collects your daily check-ins from Swarm (by Foursquare). Venue names, categories, and timestamps are used to build a location section in your daily diary, giving you a record of the places you went.

Use cases

Automatically logs every venue you checked into and when you visited
Captures venue categories so your diary shows restaurants, cafes, shops, and other places you frequent
Adds location context alongside your work, social, and entertainment activity in your diary

Data collected

Check-ins — venue name, category, address, coordinates, timestamp, and your shout (comment)
Social — photos attached to check-ins, likes count, comments, and companions you checked in with
Extras — events attended, gamification scores, stickers earned, and Mayor status

Only check-ins created during the diary period are collected. Photos attached to check-ins are used in your diary. Private notes are not accessed. No check-ins are modified or deleted.

Setup

Click "Connect" and sign in with your Foursquare account. Authorize deariary to read your check-ins. Your Swarm check-ins will be collected automatically each day.

Permissions

OAuth 2.0 — You sign in via foursquare.com and grant read-only access. deariary never sees your Foursquare password.

Your Foursquare credentials are never stored. Only an OAuth token is kept server-side.
