Linear

Turn your Linear activity into a record of what you shipped

Start for free

Overview

The Linear integration connects via OAuth and collects your activity each day: the issues you completed, created, or are actively working on, the comments you wrote on any issue, and the project updates you posted. This data is used to build a work-in-progress section in your daily diary, so you have a clear record of what you moved forward.

Use cases

  • Automatically logs the issues you finished, started, or opened — grouped so your diary reads like progress, not a ticket dump
  • Captures the comments you wrote anywhere — on your own tickets or on teammates' — so your own words become quotes in the entry
  • Surfaces the project updates you posted, so weekly health check-ins land in your diary alongside the tickets

Data collected

  • Issues — title, description, priority, estimate, state, labels, and timestamps, bucketed into completed / created / in progress for the period
  • Comments you wrote on any issue (including teammates' tickets), with timestamps
  • Project updates you posted — health (on track / at risk / off track) and the full body text
  • Team and project context — which team owns each issue and which project it belongs to, plus label context

Only issues, comments, and project updates updated during the diary period are collected. Issues closed before the period start are dropped — they can surface via the API when a teammate comments on a stale ticket, but they are not today's work. No issues, comments, or updates are modified.

Sample diary excerpt

March 12, 2026

Work

4 tickets touched across 2 projects today; 2 moved to Done. Posted a project update on the spring launch.

Spring launch (2 tickets, 1 update): Finished the homepage hero copy — got sign-off from the team and flipped it to Done. Opened a new ticket for the FAQ rewrite after support flagged the most common questions this week; dropped the raw list into the description so it's on the ticket when I pick it up. Posted the weekly update: health on track, called out the hero copy shipping and flagged the FAQ rewrite as next week's priority.

Research (1 ticket, in progress): The user interview round — wrote up a comment summarizing two of today's calls; follow-up sessions booked for next week.

Ops (1 ticket): Closed the quarterly vendor review — Maya wrote up the findings, I reviewed and flipped it to Done.

A solid day. Two items off the board, one new one captured while it was fresh, and a project update on the record instead of in my head.
